Monster Jaguar Pick Up. Pics!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
nice jag, keep in mind that he's gonna grow really slow now because they kind of plateau around that size. hes most likely a trade in, probably super aggressive too. the main reason someone would trade a fish like this in is aggression as in he pulled an Amityville on his tankbuddys. I once bought a 9 inch jag for 40 bucks he was deranged wanted to kill me, my python vac, cat, dog. we bought a buttikofer almost twice his size and he tried with all his might to destroy it.

That's what i'm hoping for. I want a one fish tank. So far he is mellow. But its only day 2. He is swimming around the tank now and his colors are already better. I dosed with salt to help with the introduction. He is interested in food, but not enough to eat it yet. I cant wait until he is comfortable in his home and eating well. And i'm hoping he tries to attack anything that walks past the tank. That's my kind of fish. :)

Here's a few better pictures from today.

I always respect people that have the self control to keep a single specimen tank. I think the more aggressive cichlids like Jags always shine brightest when they have their own domain to themselves. He's lookin good! :headbang2

Ha, thanks. I finally have developed self control. It took 31 years, but I think I might actually have some now. ;)

That's what I wanted for my 55g since it's in the living room, but because of the size limitations all I could fit was a jack dempsey, and so far he's been pretty shy. Hoping since he's just a juvenile that he'll change as he gets older, but he's still no jaguar!
