I think they eat what other polys eat. Carnivore sinking pellets and fish fillets maybe?

Rope fish would be a good choice. They're hearty, easy to care for, and not particularly aggressive. And cute. And they don't get very large, as stated above.

ropefish should be good, however i still think that your smaller fish are at risk, but a way lower risk. With polypteridae though they are carnivorous so really they try anything.

The zebra danios are probably the only ones at risk.

Hi guys, I currently have a 160 gallon tank which is filled with a mixture of fishes right now.

Here is my stocking list for now.

1 Herichtys pearsei
5 Parateelopus menarambo
2 gold severums
1 rotkeil severum
7 frontosa
2 aulonocara firefish
2 aulonocara neon blue
2 striped raphael cats
2 featherfin syno
2 syno petricola
1 L114 pleco
5 clown loaches
1 Hoplo cat
1 Firemouth
1 Thorichtys ellioti
5-6 serpae tetra
6-8 zebra danio
2 x-ray tetra
1 rosy barb
1 denisons barb
3 boseman rainbowfish.

I want to try and get a bichir or two... what beginner bichir that doesn't grow too big for this tank, and how many should I keep. Thanks.

The goners: tetras, clown loaches, danios, barbs, rainbowfish
must not have: plecos
Risky: firemouth, frontosa

Nobody thinks its already overstocked? Well I do. I recommend thinning it down before adding anything.

That is a lot of cichlids that get pretty big and a lot of bottom feeder competition in a 160g. But that just my opinion.
