Curious about these foods.. Kens fish, HBH, and New Era

Ive been primarily feeding NLS. BUT I have to admit the odor and color it makes my water have isnt something I enjoy. The smell specifically. Im feeding pellets small enough for my fish to consume whole. 1mm for the small guys under 4" Over 4" up to 6" is getting 2mm and all my fish in the 6" to 10" range are getting 3mm. I do only sinking as my fish have gotten accustomed to it. But im curious who here uses these brands.

Im not looking to power grow my fish. But I want a great healthy diet for them thats balanced. I keep a various amount of different fish from Vejia to Parachromis to Amps and others..

Even if I have to get a couple different pellet formulations or sticks that supply protein and plant matter. Id like to hear your experiences if you have them with these. What you liked, Didnt like, or whatever.

Im looking to try and buy in quantity. I see some of the stuff like New Era claims special slow sinking soft pellets. Not sure what that makes a difference. But please give your input. Not looking for a debate on this food makes this do this or is magic. Ive always been a firm believer in genetics more then food.

Other then Hikari or NLS if youve got some real input with great info to back it please post it up. Thanks!!!
 
I feed primarily NLS too and not too keen about the color and smell but I think that's why your fish love it! I do 30% wc 2x a week so its not a biggy to me. All I care is that they eat and are happy. Sorry no help on the other brands as I fed my fish Hikari before.
 
I used to feed Hikari as well. Then switch to NLS. BUT for the tanks ive got in our bed room. (and thats a few, 90g, 125g, and 2x55g) Id rather try not to sleep with the smell nor does my wife. I do weekly water changes of 70% or more. Water conditions are great Just hate the smell. lol

Just wasnt sure if nutritionally any of these foods were good and didnt know if they had smell issues as well.
 
I never tried Ken's of New Era so can't say anythig about them one way or another. I have tried HBH and wasn't crazy about it and nutritionally it isn't even in the same league as NLS. I feed Thera +A and it does have a stronger oder then regular NLS but it never colored my water.
 
I used to feed Thera a but switched back to large formula due to the smell...

I've fed kens fish flakes but stopped because it was too messy...

I've been feeding all my fish with nls and dainichi daily with great results.
 
I feed my p saulosi hbh veggie 8 when they were young and they looked great, grew fine, and bred regularly. I use kens fish earthworm sticks as treats for my new worlds and they love it but not exactly a staple. I use xtreme for for new worlds staple diet and for my community fish and couldn't be happier.
