So the log and the rocks once you decide where they sit you have to attach them down permanently.

Yes. The rocks are to be siliconed and blended with the bottom. The logs won't have to be. I could just leave the rocks not siliconed, but it wouldn't look right and I suspect the current would move them. I'd rather not silicone them to try everything out and see how the flow of water looks. I need to consult sensei about this matter for his opinion. Of course once it's filled, there is no going back to silicone them in without emptying and drying the tank. Decisions, decisions.....
 
Wow...just read through this thread...amazing tank! Would love to be able to do something of this size someday!
