If i got something else to cover that 2 inch crack between the glass and filter will that be sufficient? Possible weighted? Not trying to cut corners just seeing what will work.

You can purchase the plastic back strip for your glass canopy from your local fish store or online. You just need to know what the glass thickness is of your lid to purchase the correct size. You can then trim the back strip to fit snugly between the lid and the filter using a utility knife, hand saw or tool.

thank you for all the advice I will look into that asap

x2 great idea - need to do something similar with my pair of suicidal Gobies. :irked:

After looking into aqua scape shipping cost and the fact that they require credit card payment before shipping is even estimated bothers me a but and I may just try and find a wolf locally. If i cant what are other possibilities for a 40 breeder by themselves?

For the back cover, cut egg crate light diffuser with pliers to size. you can weigh it down with your current glass top.

~$13 at home improvement store

That would work, but if you've got glass tops already - I'd just look at most online fish supply stores or Amazon for the back plastic strip that you can cut to fit exact. Should come out to the same price, I know I spent less than $30 for both the hinges and back strip on a 6 foot tank. Cuts down on water evaporation as well.

I think Jeff rapps has some erythrinus erythrinus (sp.?) in stock and he gives you a shipping quote immediately. He starts shipping again next Monday.
