Thanks Spoiler,glad it's had that effect on you.I'll smile a little when he starts eating...I've had oscars before and have always known them to be really greedy.
that is a very rare fish a picky oscar lol! mind you most fish will turn their nose up at a pellet if its not the usual pellet they have right? was probably on a petsmart food, maybe try some of their cheap stuff for him or even flakes, some people just dont know... have to remind my self even in fish shops that not everyone is as anal as me busting out cichlids latin names like we all do on here!-), that said theres plenty of people that feed cichlids flakes their whole life if no-ones told em not too... miguel picked up that nice midas a few months back that just had flakes and was 13 inch! looked awesome and healthy too!
Now look....point taken and that's enough about my avatar...Spoiler.I don't know why it's taken this long for you to be bothered by it anyways lol.I'm actually tired of it also and I'm looking for something to replace it with.
Good points justarn but I don't think the O was at the PetSmart long enough to get used to any food they might have given it.In fact,there was bits of bloodworm floating around in the bucket that it was in...I just think the previous owners probably exclusively gave it live feeder fish.

I really don't want to toss any feeders in as the cichla will notice them the very moment any is tossed in and pounce on them.I don't give them feeders at all and it's been hard work getting them off of them....Pete's just going to have to follow suit.
