Fx5 good enough for 240 gallon

I guess I have my answer. I was about to ask what would be the ideal filtration for my new 280 set up. I have used a Fluval 406 along with a Eshopps Wet/dry on my 75 and it keeps it crystal clear. I am very particular about my tank water. Meaning I like it clear, polished and beautiful to look at. The fx5 is $349.99 each.. ugh... that's a $700 purchase. They are on sale right now on amazon for the $349.99. Does anyone have any other suggestions of a supplier that beats that price? Would 2 fx5's be enough for my 280? I am still going to use the wet/dry as well because its a drilled tank and I already have the wet/dry so why not. Can you purchase spray bars for the fx5? I have used one on my 406 and I really like the surface water circulation. Thanks in advance!
CORRECTION - Petco has the FX6 on sale now for $339.00 with free shipping. Aquariums up to 400 gallons and pumps 950 gallons per hour. That's pretty sweet. So if this FX6 is made for the bigger tanks why does so many people buy 2 FX5's?
I'd love to see a photo as well of those DIY PVC spraybars. I'd like to try them with my fx5.

I was gonna put together a tutorial on how to make the spraybar, but realized I dont have the time....So did some researching on here.

This should be good place to find information as to making a spraybar attachment to your Fx5.
If the white PVC isnt your thing, there's a ton of different spray paints that are safe for aquariums. I think I used black Krylon when I had my spray attached.

Through all of my years of fish keeping I have never owned a Eheim but here them mentioned often. Are these overall better than the fluvals? Are they easy to clean with chambers for media, sponges and polishing pads? All that good stuff??
If your tank is drilled I would just spend the money on a big sump (used tank on craigslist) with filter socks and bio media and a solid pump!

I'd put it this way - fluval great, eheim great. After that its a personal or budget choice.
I would pony up the extra 60 bucks for the eheim 2262. It will never need replacing. Those filters last a lifetime and hold way more media than the fx5. I think a combo of a 2262 and a fx5 would be ideal.....that's IF a sump is not an option
