Fx5 good enough for 240 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You can use PVC spraybars with Fx5 filters and create a great deal of current without having to use powerheads.

Thats a good idea..

I'll see if I can get pictures later. I drilled 1/4" holes in 3/4" or 1" PVC, and attached it to the Fx5 hose with the rubber coupler and a hose clamp. Make sure the end cap is on tight, and the PVC is secure...It generates a lot of thrust.

I have a 240 with one FX5 and 2 Aquatop 400s and 3 power heads. Weekly water change of 30 to 50% Of course these are not monster fish but 40 Tropheus which are pretty finicky about their water..

Where did you get your 240 from?

I'd love to see a photo as well of those DIY PVC spraybars. I'd like to try them with my fx5.:)

Thanks
