My staple diet well actually i exclusively feed NLS thera+a its 38% protein and has that extra added garlic . For me i like that my fish's color and health is greatly improved i like that the ingredients are top notch and my fish go crazy over it i feed it to all my fish it might be a lil bit expensive but to me its worth it . I do think though i want to add some krill into his diet just as a treat i measured my beast of a fish last night and he is a solid 11 inches and a pretty heavy fish at least 3 pounds . I will add a comparison pic the first pic is of my fish when i bought him in November they were feeding him grand sumo and this was him in march 2013

ive been feeding my 7 inch jag nls large fish formula and hikari gold with the occasional dozen feeder minnows(he eats the whole dozen.) and crickets from time to time he went from 1 inch to 7 in 6 months. i just started giving him raw shrimp chunks a few days ago and his coloration is off the charts the way i see it. i really suggest throwing in raw shrimp from time to time. (his gold is brighter in person)View attachment 943522View attachment 943523

Sounds good and looks like its working! May have to try some of the shrimp! Thanks for the write up and suggestions!

Cool, what do you think about the flakes, how much of the nutrients of em disperse in the water before your fish eat them I mean? Sounds like a solid diet bro!

I really like the NLS flakes. I have a lot of smaller jacks several 1 inch. The larger ones that I have are sound 3 or 4 inches long they just love those flakes. Now my fry and those less than an inch I feed the NLS flakes and NLS grow
Pellets. I also like feeding frozen brine to all jacks on occasions.
