Lots and lots of cichlids from the new (and old) world have been formally described recently...
A small sample (there are many, many more):

well the point was kind of missed by you in the sense that in the scientific community and in the eyes of other fish keepers these are all significant findings... any time some new species is discovered or classified it should be celebrated or at least acknowledged.
obviously the target audience of this particular forum are those who like larger fish who might shrug at the discovery of a 2 inch fish... but do realize there are other people out there with other tastes and preferences. it's like those people who think only tigers and elephants should be saved and are worth conserving, because who cares about that small, brown 1 inch frog that no one really bothers to look closely for other than those silly scientists, right? take time to think critically.

According to Ken (fishfarm), who collected them: It's real simple, we collect in the Rio Blanco because it's a smaller tributery to the Copan and easier to collect, The Rio Blanco's in the hobby came from a location about a mile from where the Blanco runs into the Copan, so basically they are all the same fish. All the fish from the Blanco and Copan came from 4 collecting trips we made from 2006-2009. Ken
WHAT WHAT!!! Tell em powda, hit em in tha jaw baby! Could not have said it better myself brother! Thanks for the kind words about my article being dropped as well, glad Chris and my other brothers aren't the only ones who see the crappy political game being played with these AWESOME fish! Lastly, I'm challenging you on the hybrid show fish (just because I want to see the beauty you describe lol)! UMBEEEEEEEE-POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! PS there will be some STRAIGHT AWESOMENESS coming soon for the direction the hobby "isn't going"!
