please view the vid and give me some i.d. regarding this monster pleco cause I'm planning to have one, and I'm clueless regarding L???? of plecos so that's that.
Thanks!

It's probably a Panaque titan, possibly Panaque schaeferi.

So can they grow some thick gentleman's mustache? I know it'll take years but, that's why I do want to get one.
I'm aiming for the mustache, I just don't know why.

I understand the appeal, I think they can really enhance the look of a Panaque. You can see some of the operculum and pectoral odontodes (the 'moustache') of my Panaque nigrolineatus in my avatar picture.

All of the larger growing Panaque can grow odontodes, it's not guaranteed, and is a combination of several factors.

Here's a Panaque suttonorum, about 48cm/19".

And a Panaque cf. titan 'L191' about 60cm/24".

Woah, from all the cool looking fish that my eyes has seen, this line of Panaque really do justice for looking smooth monster, but hard-boiled looking.

May I ask, what Panaque has the highest chance to grow some decent thick odontodes, likely is it for males only? mustache is for male I guess...

Are they hard to acquire and pricey? I mean by price you could just give me some digits $$$? or $$$$? ARGGHH I really want a gentleman pleco!!

I could be wrong but last time I seen a huge 24"+ panaque listed it was a 191 and the price tag was at least $1250 but I think it was more along the lines of $2000
I can't find the list anymore
It was brought in by Oliver over at Below water

Young P. Titan 4"-5" run around $150 each Schaeferi about the same maybe a bit cheaper

I haven't seen any of the above mentioned for sale around me in a long time at least 2 years
