can a 150 gallon tank go upstairs

Hello; As is common when this question is asked on the forum, several have encouraged the OP to go ahead without having actually seen the structure of the house. How can the strength of a structure be known sight unseen? In my current house some of the floor joists had been compromised with large cuts. I had to sister additional joists in place. If you watch Mike Holmes TV shows you may have seen episodes about new construction with serious structural issues.

The only way I know of to have some assurance of a sound structure is to have someone who knows about structure have an actual look at the structure.

In case some missed this thread a while back here is a link to it. A look at the pictures should give pause, they did for me.

Good luck

Good luck

ya i decided to put it on the first floor and reinforce the joists. it will be running perpendicular to the joists and will be against an exterior wall so i think it should be ok

I had my 125 gallon set up in an upstairs bedroom for about 8 years with no problems at all. I think it will be fine.

LOL, I got it!

You, like me, read to the bottom of that article linked by rodger
