Yeah that's true they have great festae and so does flatfishleo.

They are definitely not Mayan. That I'm 100% sure of. I was told they are f2 rio tumbes.

Have you seen roadrunner's or freshwater predator's these guys sell wild and f1s in the price range I mentioned. Like I said it toke 3 years to find cheap adult festae in my area. And I paid $80 for a pair

For the record the only individual festaes I sold for over 100$ each were from roadrunner in which I was trying to get my money back out of them. I have sold pairs for a good deal of cash but usually I sell 10$ per inch up to 3.5-4" then 15$ per inch and extra if I'm sexing. I know flatfish is selling out do hit him up for some decent sizes

I don't know where stores find these fish, and the lack of knowledge the average FISH STORE owner has is incredible. How can a 15 year old on the Internet know 10000x more than a business owner that relies on the hobby as their living?

Its part of the game all stores get incorrect fish sometimes. These fish have been there a while when they came in they looked like small mayan cichlids aka red terrors until they grew and started to change. The owner of this store knows his stuff and has been around a long time. They are a very busy store with over 400 tanks and somtimes ***t happens. I see people on here are always quick to bash the LFS not me because i have gotten a lot of the same stuff as these online vendors for much cheaper. This store has true trimac 2-3 like $9, cubans 2-3 $9, grammodes2-3 $9,chocolate cichlids 3-4 $9 and cichla tem $12 right now just to name a few not bad for a LFS LOL. I also got beani from them around $10 and haitians. The only rare cichlid i havent been able to get from this or a couple other stores in my area have been istlanum other than that ive seen them all pretty much way cheaper than online. I wont even get into the non cichlid stuff at the LFS. Im happy with my LFSs and i shop online too.Store owners have bills to pay and families to raise and dont have the luxury of sitting on the internet all day like a 15 year old kid.I think a lot of young people forget we didnt have internet when we were young and without LFSs there would be no hobby.

True. Even tho it turned out not to be a festae I must agree that they are far better then your average lfs. That's y I originally said they are pretty good at knowing what they have. It's because of the trust I have in them that I took the gamble. I have scored some pretty cool fish for some good prices from that place.

No excuses at this point. That's just how business is. If you don't change with the times, you become obsolete. I don't care if you have 1000 tanks, every tank is fed several times a day and any decent employee (manager, etc) you have should be generally knowledgable on any species you carry enough to spot that "hey, that doesn't look right."

Agreed. One of the better stores in my area, as far as ACTUAL selection goes, blows ids every time I go in there. They always have Rtms labeled, but not once have the actual fish been a mota..... Tank full of something but not even parachromis at all..... My Freddy was sold as a motaguense .....

If I'm going to sell something, you'd better believe I'm going to know what I'm selling. I don't go in a guitar center and see a Gibson guitar sold as a Fender...ever,

That being said, this same store has salt and Victorian selection second to none. Lots of my fish have come from there and I've used them alot for parts locally .... Things Petsmart wont have........Bulkheads, overflows, Pricing is great on supplies and they have a ton......


But they always have something mis ided in the centrals. And the owner is a tool...lol.
