Than I'd recommend not keeping high end fish because the pedigree means nothing in fish. T1 may have used that out of context but he to also would agree that a nice ray regardless would fetch good dollars.
People buy pure bred show dogs for the pedigree ....people buy fish for an array of reasons. Never once have I heard a person complain about a real nice hybrids pedigree. Sure really nice pure bred rays are something special .
I wouldn't agree that pedigree means nothing in fish, when im buying pups or adults I want to know the parents of the fish if possible, im not saying I wouldn't pay a higher price for a hybrid but I would rather pay a higher price for a fish that I no the background of. Pure is for always better then a hybrid/mutt for me and all fish have different values to different people as we are all looking for different things in our fish. Just my opion, if u like it and can afford it then buy it

Not exactly actually... (in terms of dogs) for example the cost of a golden doodle is greater than the cost of a golden retriever (if it is being bought as a house pet) other wise it depends on the pedigree, which in that case a champion bred golden doodle would still cost more than a champion bred golden retriever.. along with french bulldogs (a mix of a pug, boston terrier and an english bulldog, obviously over the span of multiple generations) costs more than a pug, boston terrier and in some cases an english bulldog. It all depends on what traits of the different breeds the buyer is looking for... for example most people love the fact that golden doodles dont shed and they still have the amazing personality found in golden retrievers.. im not saying that it is the same in fish but there are cross bred fish that do cost more than pure preds because they have aquired desirable traits from both parents (like a tsnXrtc costs the same, or even more than either one of the pure bred parents)... but it depends on personal taste like stated before... in the case of this ray (if it is a hybrid) it just depends on whether or not the buyer desires the traits of the cross bred over a pure bred...i don't understand how a hybrid can fetch more - i agree with a post made by T1Karmann before which was that a pedigree dog would cost more than a dog which is cross bred so there would be no justification if the pure dog would be lower priced.
I can't see how rays would be any different.
