GOD water changes are a hassle every week! Today as I was carrying the dirty water from my tank to the toilet I slipped and got crap water all over me and my floor 😡 this is getting way to troublesome and my back KILLS after I finish, my tanks sent big enough to justify a drip system, I was thinking of buying a garden hose from home depot but don't know how that would work.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Get a long clear hose from Lowe's/Home Depot and replace your gravel vac hose. You can drain it outside that way. I do it for the tanks in my garage.

You can get adaptors from a hardware store to connect a garden hose to a laundry tub type sink to make it easier to refill.

I hooked a garden hose to the clear tube on my gravel cac hose. With the correct fittings it is really easy to hook a longer hose to the pipes under the sink for fresh water. Do you have a canister filter? some of them have a drain on them. just hook the garden hose to the drain on the filter.

I have been thinking about a drip system but do not want my well pump coming on just to drip water. I was thinking about setting it up so a system that will only fill the tank when the pump is running.

You have to get a garden hose and cut the front end off and connect it to the gravel vac. You can put the other end under the toilet seat or tub so you don't have to carry the water. You have to make sure that hose is weighted down so it doesn't slip onto the floor. To fill, get one of those water hose adapter for the faucet. They have different types. You have to get one that will fit on the faucet. You will be able to connect the end of the hose on it to fill the tank. I usually run the hot water to get cold water out of the pipe before connecting the hose. This allows you to not put too much cold water into the tank before it warms up. I always turn the cold water on first than the hot. I don't want to hit fishes with any hot water just in case they are right there where the water is going in. I use my hand to feel for the temperature of the new water coming into the tank. After a few times, will have an idea where to set the handle of the faucet every time. Always, add water conditioner right away or before adding the water. Good Luck.

What size tank do you have?

Hope this helps. :D
Heres what I do:
1) Get a long garden hose
2) Put one end of the hose in the tank long enough to reach the bottom and secure it in place (this is for easy vacuuming) but make sure the end outside the tank is longer
3) Attach the other end to a faucet
4) Turn on the faucet and let all the bubbles out of the other end of the hose and get a good flow going
5) Quickly release the hose from the faucet and point at the drain (This creates a reverse flow of water making it come out of the other end) then turn off the faucet
6) Go to the other end and siphon all dirt and water until you've drained enough
7) When done, lift the tank-end of the hose up, point it upwards and keep it high so no water would come out that side
8) Add prime or whatever dechlorinator you use
9) reattach the hose to the faucet and add water
10) Watch your fish enjoy the clean water

That is about the hardest way there is to get water out of a tank.
