The past few months I've been having a hard time with my fish/animals. I lost my black arowana, my sturgeon was brutally attacked and had his back broken, my rays are fighting and have chunks taken out of their disk, I found my 7- 8 inch male albino ornate horn frog dead ( Ser. chubs was my favorite of all, that was a extremely ruff loss) and a bunch of little bs that's happend. And last of all, I woke up Wednesday morning with my 8 inch Tigrinus catfish not in his cave, behind some Decor, on his side dead. Still don't know how since the waters good, no one else effected, active every night and some times in the day, eating frozen tilapia and I've done more care and cleaning on his tank more than any other tank. I didn't wright this post to hear people feeling sorry for me or telling me that my fish arnt healthy and I should quit and let haters pick on me and bs like that but fore the real reason...
so I have my 125 open with with a s**t load of filtration, so I just got off the phone with a store owner that's ordering 24 red bellied piranhas at 1 inch for me. I'm looking to raise them up and in about a year I'm hoping to find afew looking to breed. I won't be keeping them all in the 125, ill be ether looking to sell off the weaker ones if they last or dividing them up in another tank to split up the week and stronger ones. So don't rip me a new one saying that's too many bc I really don't care, so save your comments if that's what your looking to do. But it's going to be fun and I can't wait for them to come in. I will keep you guys updated when they come in and will post pics when they do!

Any positive feed back? I'm kind of looking forward to decorating the tank. Everything in it now was just for my fish like my tig and armatus to hide under, so my tank looks empty. So ill be going to pick up some new driftwood and some big floating plants and stuff to dress it up!

Damn that's a rough patch, sorry to hear. I think 24 rbps would be an awesome sight to see when still small and feeding. You already know 24 won't fit in a 125 for long, so I won't tell you that. As long as you're prepared to move a bunch out of there as they grow, I say go for it.

Did all the fish that died have the same symptoms, or did the aro and tig die from different causes? Just asking since some diseases won't necessarily show up on a water parameter test, and I'd hate for something to still be in the tank when you put your new fish in there. Best of luck!

Thanks, I'm looking forward to it. I know they won't all fit but I'm looking at keeping8-12 in the 125 once they start growing. My old shoal grew fast so I have an idea on growth rate. I'm just doing a large number to start with so I get my best chance of getting male and female to get a pair. And so I can get the healthiest and aggresive ones.

Well my frog was an adult so I'm thinking he was just old, most males get 6-7 and he was around 8inch. He was huge, plus the only thing the guy gave him before me were mice, since that's all he would take. Everyone that died from disease were from different tanks but the same owner so I'm not sure if that's anything to do with it or what but the aro had a problem with his swim blather and I have no idea with the tig and theirs other fish in with them and they are all normal. So idk maybe their diet. It's just funny all the fish I hive frozen foods end up dying. I have a 2 year old AGTF around a foot that's been eating feeder fish for his intier life and he's the healthiest fish I have.

You mentioned an armatus,I'm guessing that it is still alive?....and I'd like to see the Goliath if you have any photos to post.

You really need to take a look at why all these animals are dying - BEFORE getting more.
Sorry I'm no doctor or vet. I have an idea but there's nothing that is clear. I've been doing this for over 6 years and this is really the only time this has happend.
like I said I'm not looking for hate mail and it seems to me your showing a bit of attitude. I'm not a 9 year old kid that has no clue what I'm doing. I wouldn't spend the money on these guys if I knew I didn't have a chance. Yeah it probity dosent help, he's the first catfish I've kept, I was told they are hardier than rays so why not. I'm I charchin keeper so it was out of my comfort zone.

No problem dude, and thanks! I got him at 2 inches. Yeah when I got the tig he was really skinny and not even 3 inches. So live and learn, not going to lie he was really cool and knowing that's their are people in the world that won't even get a chance to even see one in person so no regrets. I just have to keep on trucking on and I'm thinking these piranhas will be good for me to bump me back to square one. Plus I've never tried breeding fish befor so it's something new that will only help me get better at understanding fish.
