I just got the really thick ones in may and another in june. I got them to go with my other 3 when I upgraded tanks. I am trying to get their shape back. They came from the store pretty hefty. It looks like they were fed a dozen goldfish a day.

Yeah. I had to move them from the other tank when the parents had more eggs. It's safer with the reds lol.
