I thought that to be honest. When fur gets wet it darkens and gets heavy so it doesn't stick out like in the picture. And yes having kept piranhas and other large carnivorous fish I don't think it's right too feed them rodents. It's bad for the fish and worse for the hamster. Nice tank tho!

not a fair fight the hamster can't get out of the tank. it's unhealthy for the piranhas as well. I think u got them for their Hollywood reputation. plus you mentioned getting a payara or GATF? well don't. the little 75 gallon is way too small. however one of my pet peeves is that when it's feeder fish barely anyone usually complains, however as soon as it's something furry and cute, it's a horror movie. however i agree dont feed live to them, unless it's live fish that can take cover in plants, so maybe plant the tank and start a guppy culture in the tank.

I just finished reading your comments. Sorry for posting the cruel pic. Well its not fake, and for some reason i fed them some hamsters coz the store i was buying white mice ran out, so i gave a few hamster instead. I'll also stop feeding them rodents because everyone says its not healthy. So can i give them raw pork meat instead?? Im still concerned why they are not that color vibrant. I also forgot to mention that may overhead pump makes vibrating noise. Does it bother them alot that makes them stress and lose reddish color?

Thanks for the reply. :)

These are some food that i gave to them. No offensement to anyone. Its just my choice feeding them these.IMG_20130603_101010.jpgIMG_20130607_164012.jpgIMG_20130611_141525.jpgIMG_20130611_141552.jpgIMG_20130626_181816.jpgIMG_20130627_102910.jpg

Yeah, if you get them on say Hikari carni pellets the colors will come out MUCH nicer. If they wont take pellets get worms, nightcrawlers, cut them into 3rds, and squeeze out the poop and slide hikari floating carnivore inside them. That will get your reds to look a lot more colorful. Mammal protein is okay for fish once in a while but not all the time and could be part of the reason your fish arent displaying that much color.

Really man?!? Really ? That was a total waste of a FH and it looks like it struggled fiercely because it's only half eaten!! Man and what is that in the first pick a rabbit dude c'mon man after everyone just said it's not mentally right to feed rodents. I'm sorry if I'm offending you but I think you bought pirannahs for all the wrong reasons
