Just thought I would show off the aquatic portion of my local zoo (not quite sure where to post). I've been going for 24 years and it never gets old. Overall it's a really nice zoo with over 400 exhibits; it's been mentioned on Discovery Channel before for our Komodo Dragons. All of these pics were taken in the jungle building. The whole building is basically a mini rain forest with birds, bats, and small animals running freely while people walk on dirt paths. My favorite part of the whole zoo is the pond in the middle of the building. You can't see much of it from above but there is a tunnel under it where you can see everything. I could spend hours in there. I'll try to answer any questions!

It looks like they are a good resource where people can dump their pacu when they can no longer care for them.

Great pictures thanks for posting. Looks like a very cool place to visit.

Anymore pictures involving fish?

Once I visit our local Fresh water Museum I'm gonna get all the pictures I could, well that's if I'm able to buy a camera...

Very cool, what do you think the largest freshwater fish they have is?

I'm not sure, that ripsaw catfish is at least 3 ft but they are all pretty huge.

EC these are the only fish pics; there are 5 or so ponds at the zoo with 6-24 inch koi but I don't have any pics of those. There is a park in a different part of town that has a water conservation education program and there's a very large tank with native species on display. Hopefully I can get some pics next time I take my kids!

Nice place... Mainly for kids know a little of incredible biodiversity of the planet!
When I go to the zoo in my town I'll try to take some pictures for you to see the poverty of tanks ... Shame!
Thank you for sharing.
Bye!

Amazing variety of Monster Fish!

It looks like an awesome place.

Nice pics....love the ray pond and the boys look like they had a good time.
