My afro grew from 2 inches to 13" in a year in a 75g tank. Now he is in a 180g. Ill probably upgrade in about a year or so to a 7x3. He has only grown to 14.5" in the past 3 months and i only expect his growth to slow more as he gets larger. Id estimate it takes about 2.5-3 years to reach 24"+.

African aros grow fairly fast. I've grown a 3" African Aro to 7" in about a month. I've grown a 10" African Aro to 20" in 5-6 months.

And I've grown that African Aro from 20" to 24" in what Hao? About 3 months now?

They will feed constantly if you supply them, their growth rate reflects how much food they ingest.

To reply to a previous post I agree 240 minimum for a large specimen. But the dimensions given "7x3x2" are for a 315 gallon which would actually be better than a 240.
