It is possible. Lol when there is a will there is a way. I doubt anyone has done a project on how I'm thinking but there is a old thread that the guy combined two 55s and a 29 length wise. It looked pretty awesome. I'm might have to do some searching but if I find it I'll post it.
It does sound like a uarujoey project though maybe he will have the answers you need.

Ya i have watched this series before. Its were i got my 55g drum filter idea.
But really 24" height wont cut it for me. I need to find 2 6x2x2 tanks if i was to do this.

180s and up are hard to come by here. 135s and 125s all day for cheap though.
