What are you planning for filtration on the 850g?

850 Filtration has not been conceived yet... I am currently re-doing the interior of my Tahoe, so the $'s for the filtration are on hold. I would take any advice from you guys, but otherwise I will bounce my ideas off of everyone on here once I have some money available & start thinking it through! No more pics worth posting, I kinda went overboard. But I do have some young bass starting to go through changes, but I want to wait til they are substantial to post them on MFK!

Does the 850 have overflows? if so I would do a large sump and run a glass filter/uv on a closed loop. Im sure the mad filter scientist can come up with something good.

The 850 is like the 420... Just solid glass all around. I will most likely do a similar set up as the 420 you see pictured. Water flow & current is my main concern for the 850. I believe it plays a major role in the comfort of the fish & the ease of maintaining the tank!

I read you got the 1/4 pumps to increase flow, please explain why did you have particulate floating around? Not clear enough? Just curious because I will be upgrading soon to a larger tank and want to size the pumps properly for my wlim filters. I would rather spend money once and get it right the first time. How are you heating your 420 with the closed loop filtration? Whats your turnover now?

My 420 just has 4 300w heaters. The 1/4 HP pumps gave me the increased power I think was necessary for the filters. I was experiencing a slow down in turnover rate even with the biological filter using the 1/15 HP pumps. Part of the cause is probably the large bio load I have, but u will have it too! 1/4 HP gives a good flow rate but I still feel the tank needs a water change 3x every 2 weeks to keep it right.
