Probably one of the nicest and cleanest looking kelberi around.

the bass is around 16-18" and probably 5 yrs old.
thanks dude. I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to sell it. I actually paid more than what I sold for to get it back. I am just glad I got it back.

Do you think that it is done gaining size? So probably majority of Kelberis stay under 20"?
Pretty much maxed out in length, but it may put on more girth.

Fish never stop gaining size. At some point their gain of weight and their growth becomes insignificant. It also works for kelberi!
In my opinion they have one of the slowest cichla growth. But the point here is how much time you can spend with them in the tank!
If you want to know the weight, theyre common to 500 grams to 2kgs. But heard of 4,5 kg kelberis in nature (dont ask me if its true).
I dont know, but it may be interesting for you guys who are more assiduous to the monster fish keeping:
If you guys want you can estimate the '' L∞ and W∞ parameters'' (Maximum Lenght and Weight before growing slowly).
If you take note of the lenght of the fish in a constant interval you can guess at what point they will significantly stop growing by making some calculations through the equation of von Bertalanffy.

i had a 18-20" kelberi before but it took close to 10 yrs to get that size. Sometimes how big a fish is also depends on tank size and genetics. Most aqaurium kelberis I see are under 20".
yep. A lot of hobbyists sell them before they reached this size.
