Yeah,there is an exotic animal site that I view from time to time and there seems to be an incredible number of breeders and dealers in that area.I'm not sure about licensing but it seems that just about anything is available.

It really is. While its annoying, I totally understand why say, piranha are illegal here. If piranha got into our waters down here we would be royally screwed. However, its already been shown how easily large constrictors can survive and breed here, but there is nothing stopping me from buying literally anything I want from there. Florida has such a beautiful but delicate ecosystem, and its a shame how little care there seems to be.
Yes, but they could also inbreed with our endangered Florida panthers. And I wasn't just talking about big cats. Its really reptiles and birds we have problems with. Have we accelerated it? you bet. and WE do not like it. never the less it will continue to go on long after we are gone. for those that are evolutionists, this is what invokes those evolution changes in a organism, or better said perhaps provides the opportunity for diversion in natural selection.

This marks the first time I've ever heard the term "evolutionist" lol...but to clarify/elaborate on your comment, there has been life on Earth for a few billion years (not thousand); so speciation (species divergence) has been around for close to that long. You are correct in stating that an introduced species can be grounds for adaptation over time, but this phenomenon is really more artificial selection than natural. By adding a single species you can alter the selection pressures of a multitude of organisms spanning all trophic levels.
I stand corrected, earth is 4.5 billion years old. life 3.5 or so. my statement statement refers to multi cell organisms where adaptation takes place over thousands of years. I,ll be it 200.000 to 600.000 thousands of years. I would like some clarification on artificial versus natural selection.
