Surprised to hear no comments about the come back from NE last night. I went to dinner with the fam after watching the new Thor (AWESOME BTW) and it was 24-0 when we sat down. Got home to check the score and it was tied up at 31-31....

Well, the impossible dream is over.

Now hopefully we can move on and realize it is time to fire our OC. Gilbride tends to be very stubborn and lacks the ability to adapt. It has been so painful to watch this year. While Coughlin wants a balanced offense (which we actually had at a 30/30 split yesterday), KG likes to sling the ball down field and only run as a supplement. Our passing offense is based off of complex option routes for the receivers with the large majority being down field options. These plays require time, and most importantly, a good offensive line.

In years past, this offense has worked perfectly. For years we had the best offensive line in the league and Eli can run it perfectly, as he is one of the best down field passers (still is even with all the issues this year) and his intelligence allows him to work well with the option routes. Our receivers need to be on the same page with Manning, requiring them to be experienced with the playbook. The amount of Wideouts we have started over the years has been very low (Toomer, Burress, Smith, Cruz, Manningham, Nicks) allowing them to get comfortable and in-sync with Manning.

This year, the line has been in shambles, giving Manning zero time for these routes. Gilbride absolutely refused to switch to an offense based on shorter passes, and it got Eli killed. On top of all this, our Wideouts have not been on the same page with Manning (sans Cruz). This has led to many interceptions, that all will be blamed on Manning.

Gilbrides stubbornness was so evident yesterday. The wind was horrible yesterday, making deep throws extremely difficult, yet almost no short passes were called the entire game. It was all either 20 yard passes or emergency dump offs to RB's all game. Also, our run game was absolutely destroying the Cowboys all game (over 200 yards total), yet even in short yardage situations, it was abandoned by Gilbride. We needed to have a 40 run- 20 pass split, but that could never happen with Gilbride. His play calls cost us the game and hopefully will finally cost him his job. This team has not been suited to run his offense all year and is arguably the main reason we are 4-7

End of rant.

Also, wtf happened to Hakeem Nicks. Dude is just all messed up by looking for the big contract and the team/coaching is just completely fed up with him. He has been constantly whining and giving up on plays. He is avoiding contact at all time, trying to prove he can stay healthy for free agency.

This week he had a minor injury and his agent suggested he shouldn't practice. Tom Coughlin was so pissed that he benched him. If this is his idea of how to impress his future team, he is doing a bad job of it.

I don't blame nicks. Cant go balls to the walls without an extension. They hung him out to dry and they're paying for it

Someone will get a bargain next year

He hung himself out to dry. Didn't even show up to any off season activity.

Remember that interception Eli threw last week at the goaline? It occurred because Louis Murphy was in the game and ran the wrong route. Why was he in the game? Because Nicks took himself out of the game the play before because Eli didn't see him open. Jacobs and Brown had to go give him a long talk after that.
