That cheaper then glass? Any benefits over glass? Where did you get the 1" acrylic?
I talked about that a few pages back. Being a cabinet maker one of the things I work with is acrylic. A full 4x8x1" thick acrylic sheet is only going to run me a little over 400 if I remember right. That is all thanks to the company I work for getting me the acrylic at their cost. For me the main benefit of acrylic is since my wife is parking her car in the garage I don't have to worry about her smacking the acrylic window with anything and breaking it.
I've got to get over y fear factor I have on building a tank and the worry of it leaking. I can't believe I'm actuall still thinking about buying a fiberglass tank from dolphin fiberglass. They are expensive !
A 2600 gallon 6 foot tall windowd tank is 16000 bucks lol
After thinking more there is no reason to fear with a build like yours. The design of your tank is strong. Especially in the corners

Contemplating going higher as in raising the tank off the floor or making the tank itself higher as in my rows of 2x4s
More then likely stacking more rows higher. The tank is still on furniture dollies so I may pull it away from the wall a little and brace the outside of the walls with 2x4's vertically to help prevent any bowing with going higher. Let me PM someone to see if I would need to go thicker on the window.
I doubt it would need anymore bracing. But that's just an opinion haha

I overlooked that...I've been looking for a quality acrylic supplier, preferred to be within driving distance or local to save on shipping.
Time to get back into this build. I took a long enough break. No longer sitting on dollies and back on the floor. 1/16 of an inch out of level each way but I am not going to fuss about it. Time to figure out how much higher I want to go so I may be ripping the top 3 rows off to make the viewing window taller.
