When is it safe to add growouts to main tank?

They should do fine, I'd keep an eye on the bigger kel though.

Totally agree! I thought my tem was 12" till I measured him out of tank. He was over18"!
point being the glass and water can make fish look smaller or sometimes bigger than they really are.
put the smaller kels in plastic bag and put In main tank to reall see size difference and how the bigger ones reach to them
 
Well I did it and all three chase little guy around, it's big enough to not get eaten but still to little as compared to the pack. I didn't want to stress it so I removed it and put it back in the grow-out tank. I'll wait to do it sometime next year.
