Put Fahaka puffer in tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my LFS has an amazing fahaka....here is his web cam...he does not eat the other fish, owner who I know very well says he never has. ..Note he is in a 350g tank ;)

Edit: my bad hank is a mbu.

MBU's are a little more forgiving with tank mates than a fahaka. But again all depends on the fish.

Do not get an mbu please, they grow even bigger than fahakas. And you only have a 55 and they need around 300 min. Directed at OP.

Unless you grab a tank that size, an mbu will be unmanageable for you long term. Going from a 55 to 300 + is a large jump. And maintenance is a large jump.

To answer your question yes you can put it in your 55g for a certain period of time with risk...
If you plan on upgrading then I suggest you do it sooner then later

I have had my fahaka with 3 gars 2 aros 4 dats 1 ray and 1 ATF in a 210

Like everyone stated yes you need a bigger tank, yes you should probably have the fahaka in its own tank etc.

Won't know till you experience it yourself I went from a 20g to 75g to 210g in about a month everyone's opinions is just there experiences trial and error and want what's best for you and fish but read into the threads more heaps of info regarding pretty much anything.

Good luck

^ not sure i agree with your diet for your fahaka since they arent dont normally eat fish...

Mussels, clams, market prawns, crays etc are a much better diet imho...

The fish is only for club meeting days. Hr gets plenty of shell fish the rest of the month.
