Bought these guys last month and finally got them to breed. Characterful little fish that are a bit like Convicts but with more colour :D

Looking good. I have a pair guarding fry right now as well! I bought them as C. chetumalensis but they turned out to be C. cutteri!

How'd you know your pair aren't chetumalensis??? Both my male and female Cutteri seem to have fewer bars in breeding dress - but your male looks much more like a C. chetumalensis.

Hmm.. where did you pull the pic of the chets from? I posted on a few different forums and the consensus was that they were cutteri; I however was not completely convinced.

I actually posted the question here on MFK a week or so ago and got not one response..? I'll bump the thread and you can take a look at the videos. My female shows quite a bit of orange on her dorsal, as well as directly behind her pectoral fins when not in full breeding dress.

You got my wheels spinning again.:nilly:
