New Polys and some old fave's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Current stocklist in this tank (75 gallon) being upgraded to a 48x24x24 this weekend.

2xsenegalus
2xLapradei
1xDelhezi
1xPolli
1xOrnate
1xTeugelsi

Still waiting to enter their new home I have 3xEndli and 1xAlbino Sen.

I think even that 120 will be full once the full crew is together. 12 actually seems like too many now i think about it.

Opinions?

It depends how big everything is. I only have 6 polys in my 150g, 2 are 15-16" and the rest are between 6-12" and it looks like when the smaller ones grow, it'll be packed. I still want more though.

Assuming the endlis are CB, in time you may want to get rid of one. Both of my CB lower jaws that I bought from my lfs stopped growing at 8-9". The endli died, and im not sure what to do with the lapradei. Im thinking about turning a 55 gallon into CB poly tank with my CB delhezi, senegal, and lapradei. If you dont want to get rid of any in the future, you just have to get a larger tank/sump and water changes to match. I have 16 in my 180, but I only see like 5 out at any given time. They arent very active, and I believe that as long as they arent layering the entiretly of the tank bottom, they wont really mind.

Love the scape job spico, and the stock! Thats a nice Odoe too, be careful with the CB endlis, as other people have stated they can get issues pretty fast so keep the water super clean for em

As to overstocking, bichirs love to be together for the most part so I think you'll be fine, just keep an eye on params

Thanks for the compliment, I'll be adding more driftwood once the 120 gets here. I have a bunch sitting around.

As for the CB endli, to be honest i believe all the poly's I have are CB. So far i haven't had any issues, but time will tell. The lap i have has tripled in size in a couple months, he's almost the largest I have.

Also, massivore stinks so i stopped feeding it. I'm actually feeding Northfin exclusively now which i doubt you guys even have access too. No bad smell and keeps the tank from the yellowing i was getting from NLS, both are easliy accepted by the poly's tho. I do give the odd feeder too once they sit in QT for a couple weeks. Pretty happy with the results however i will be upping to the 3mm soon..

What sized pellets do you guys feed? I fed the smaller carnivore pellets but like i said they smell so i bailed to save my wife yelling at me all the time.
