So your saying if I have a tetra for 10 years it will get larger?? False. Its genetics on how large a fish grows.

True but not true. Fish DO never stop growing but as they age it's slows to a crawl. Basically negligible growth. But still growth. Genetics determine growth as comparing to the rest of the species and genetically some will grow bigger than others but given proper care and space fish never quite growing until they start to deteriorate and die. You just may not be able to tell with the naked eye especially seeing them on a frequent basis.

Actually yes, that is what I'm saying, and it isn't false. Unless it dies or its environment prohibits further growth, it is not going to completely stop growing. Genetics will give a size range you can expect it to reach in its lifetime or by a certain point in its life, but as long as it is living and healthy, it is not going to reach a certain length and just stop, the way humans do.

Wow, amazing. So I gather even a stunted fish could still grow given the right conditions? How great is that!
So lets say a fish that is just 8 inches even if two years old, will start growing once you give them the room. Awesome.
Here is a more recent pic, taken today.
He is in a 3 x 1.5 x 1.5 tank. His tank mates are a common pleco and two 4 inch tin foils.
Yes he might grow noticably, will he reach 12 inches? Hard to say, if he's already 2 years old & he's only 8 inches, he may not ever hit the 12 inch mark in his lifetime. But then he may surprise you. I personally wouldn't hold my breath.
