Prime can give a false positive reading of .25 ammonia. Just keep monitoring the ammonia level & step up your WCs for a couple weeks to be safe.
 
I would keep an eye on params for sure. You probably lost some bb enough for mini cycle. I have done the same thing before, I like to keep filters going during water changes just for this reason, unless I do more than 40%.

I might just leave it running now. I don't like to though because it creates a ton of splashing.

I was reading last night that prime causes false positives. I was also reading that the API test kit isn't the most accurate because it test for different forms of ammonia.

I hope the canister was fairly clean. I'd be more worried about the quality of the water coming out of the canister than the BB, a dirty canister with no water flow soon turns very toxic...

I actually cleaned it out last week. So it shouldn't be too dirty.
