Thanks guys!

Yours are some beasts Trace. Are yours first to the front of the feed line too or do they get too much competition?

Everything is first in line! They hit food like a shark feeding frenzy but nothing else stays up to the table as long as my Pearsi do. When everything else starts to slow down they are still powering down pellets at a rate of 1-2 per second. They will often times just open their mouths and swim at the surface scooping pellets as they go. I have actually started feeding worms and tilapia mostly because they won't touch it and I can fill my more predatory fish up without the Pearsi eating so much. I have never gotten the Pearsi full and they certainly don't need as much as they think they do! My buddy had a couple of 20" pacu and they are very similar in appetite and table manners. Awesome fish, a must keep.

color/pattern look great, its male i am guessing? wow so in 9 months or less he put a bunch of size! they can get to be over 4 lbs maybe?

Thanks! Yeah male for sure as his breeding tube dropped after our rather large jag layed eggs 😳

I figure 4 lbs is pretty easily obtainable. He was the largest of the group and was pushing the rest around when I picked him and vented.

That's awesome! Yeah, mine is a pig too and eats far more than the rest. Great idea on the worms and tilapia .... He outeats the parachromis so I might try the same. I tried Massivore for about a week but he just looks at a pellet as a pellet is guess lol

I've had great luck with both and as long as everything still gets some NLS daily it is saving me money and the fish love it. I culture my red wrigglers at home and it costs me next to nothing to feed 50 or so a week and the tilapia I just started feeding this week and it runs about $2.50 a pound. The cost isn't why I do it though, I just don't want to over feed my more zealous fish and none of them touch the tilapia or the worms really so I'm happy. Im sure you would be as well.

Nice! Thanks for the info. Gonna try it for sure.

Pretty sure I just decided he's moving. Going back up to the 300. Our Argentea is an absolute beast and is starting to give our male Festae some issues. Time for him to go up to the bigs....

That is a really great looking fish. I've been looking at them for awhile now & think I'm going to bite the bullet once the mancave is finished. Wifey would probably like this one to which is a plus.

That's the key. He is one of my wife's favorites because he is so personable. And, he's a baby lol.Great big fish if you have the room.

Great looking H. pearsei. I couldn't agree more about their personality. I have one that's around 6" and can't wait to see him at that size.

That should be in a few weeks lol.

Few more months on all seriousness. They grow REALLY fast.

Oh the others are personable they just have teeth lol I've been looking for something more peaceful, but still interesting. They look to mix well with parachromis species as well which would save me some space.
