How would you filter a 300g

i would just save that as a sump for sure.. but you might need a thicker baffle sheets compared to glass.. acrylic sheets prices have raised so if you want to sell that and get a glass sump.. 300 what type and dimensions?
 
All I did with my sump is just filled it with pot scubbies and pond matrix. Added a couple power heads to move water around and wala. Open concept if you will.

Yea last time I check the prices on acrylic and its expensive ;/..I don't like glass since my last tank crack and all my fish died

Anything above 100 Gallon needs a sump..period.
You want an arowana in 300 Gallon? Sump...
And if you like keeping fish and DIY, then sure it's going to give you all you ever wanted to do.
Running my 100 Gallon of an 30 Gallon sump...for years now and I really don't bother to clean it anymore..it just runs

Im at work so no pics of it running but these will give you the idea. Just imagine the pond loaded with media and a lot of water flowing around. Its a little overkill but It was free so what the hell right
