Need help with my new sump please

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You can add extra PVC either inner or outer diameter part of the bulkhead protruding inside the tank. I slip an elbow over and use a zip tie to secure it on. It doesn't need to be glued, friction fit is usually enough. The filter bags (socks) can hang vertically or bend and lay horizontally.

Thanks i was thinking that that could be the solution

i would say do a fluidized media filter. you just need to find some sort of media in your area that will work. from what i have heard they work really well. anyone can correct me if i am wrong and no i have not ever done one, but they next time i upgrade i think i will try it out.

I'm so sorry. But don't know what fluidized media is :o

Thanks I searched around and did some reading I don't think its for me.
I'm now thinking to put scrub sponges in the big chamber in the front and the ceramic filter in the small ones. What do your guys think of that ?

Pot scubbies work great and are very cost effective. Anything that provides lots of surface are will work. Im partial to pond matrix but just because I've used it for years. I throw a few liters in a laundry bag and if I need to get under the media, I just remove the whole bag.

Just be sure to get scrubbies without soaps in them. Some come pre-loaded for cleaning.
