Hey all,

My tigrinis is in a tank currently that has a fish that shows the occasional sign of ich and is at a friends house. Tigrinis is doing great but I am bringing him home. I will be QTing him before going in with any of my fish.

What would u guys recommend to treat him with since he has never showed any signs. Thinking a few weeks isolation at 84 degrees. Should I add some salt?

Thanks!

Be careful with amount of salt I wouldn't add it to qt tank just keep an eye on him. Catfish and salt don't mix well

Agreed. Scaleless fish and salt don't do well but some are still successful with it. I wouldn't suggest it as a preventive.

That is perfect temp. Ich won't grow at that temp. Good luck.

Perhaps this is needless but remember, the higher the temp, the less dissolved oxygen it holds, whilst tigs are fast-water fish and need high oxygen = very good water stirring.

And they also like to be pretty warm.
