project black devil cat in a 300g community!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
cheers dude... like a guy on the sn forum said maybe the ph and temperature changes done the snakeheads, more likely... im guessing also the large fish in a polybox could have added ammonia spike/poisoning to the scenario adding to the shock, we'll never know now i guess.

on a plus if he stays in his new cave i should be able to get some nice feeding vids, i'd bet he'll be wedged into an invisible spot by the morning tho!-)

Nice looking Cat, I have an RTC and that Black Devil just looks really cool, wonder how it would hang with an RTC, I will be getting a TSN to go with my RTC in a 1500 Gallon, or do you think the RTC and the Black would fight one another?

Black devils are always going to be a risk mate, worth a go if you really want to but be prepared for it to go wrong... maybe a mystus nemurus would be a better mix but either way you would need a larger fish due to the rtc appetite.!

ah ok thanks, I checked out the fish you recommended, it seems it hard to find one that is not stunted because of them being mass grown for food, so there is a good possibly that it would never grow big enough for the RTC not to try to eat it, guess I will stick with the Tiger shovel nose and may be a RTC/TSN hybrid.

I've heard others state something along these lines about the IDS, that farming produces fish that fail to grow to their potential. I am curious and would like to learn more. Are you able to point to where you picked this up or a reliable place/source that explains this notion?
