My festae won't grow. It might of shrunk. Help

The first pic is from 7 - 9 months ago. The second phot is from the other day. I do not think he has grown. He eats okay. Just pellets and occasional flakes. I do water changes as well.

If you do 50% water changes once per month, your fish will grow slower than 50% once per week.
If you do 50% water changes twice per week, it will grow even faster, etc etc
Way back in the 80s discus breeders found they would get the fastest growth changing 90% to 100% per day on fry tanks.

Agreed. My Festae fry and growouts see between 30%-50% dripped daily and growth is much faster than even those tanks I do weekly changes on.

Any or most fish start slowing down after they hit a certain size, they will grow but at a very slow rate....they also seem to have growth spurts, most of the time when i wake up the next morning to look at my fish they seem to have grown a inch or so overnight...it sounds ludicrous but its true...

IME Festaes are fast growing fish...

Looking at the picture i think your fish is around 7"-9" big??? is he that big...
