Filter for 180 gallon aquarium.

Hi everyone! I currently have a 180 gallon aquarium with One Giant red tail gourami (13 inch) Ornate bichir (12 inch) Endlicheri bichir ( 9 inch) Lapradei bichir ( 8 inch) Common pleco ( 4 inch). It is currently running on two Aquaclear 110 hang on back filters. I have been wanting to upgrade to a canister filter but can't decide on which one. I am deciding on the Eheim 2080 320G Pro 3 External Canister Filter and the Fluval Fx6. Which one is a better filter and will keep my fish healthier? Thank you in advance!

hello and welcome to mfk, i would say fx6 as im fluval bias, you will find people suggesting both but they are both good... its just about filtration too keep the fish healthy, as you are heavily stocked you will need to be onto of your water change, at least 50% a week. obviously you know that giant gouramis get huuuuge and will be needing a maahoossive tank sooner or later!-)

Yeah, I'm currently trying to sell it or trading him for a few bichirs or something of equal value.

In My opinion Aquaclear's are the best filters to me. I have 3 on my 180 and they work excellent!! I use to have a magnum pro canister filter but I was always concerned what if I came home and a line broke and ruined my hardwood floors.
