After seeing the video, it seems your fish has less bulk, the dorsal and anal fin smaller so I am guessing female.mine has the same crazy attitude but will calm down when I use a rubber glove and play

i was implying he wouldnt win in a fight with the dovii pic linked in my post lol, thread is the biggest baddest after all! sorry bad sense of humour, very nice cichla btw.
 
Does saltwater count? How about my 24" bamboo shark...But she is a pussycat so not really a bad ass fish just a big beauty....lol
