So there we have it, jardini are aggressive fish, more aggressive than oscars. Oscars are quite aggressive but jardini are one of the worst tempered fish. Mine nearly killed my knifefish.

Convicts are more aggressive than oscars. Oscars aren't a aggressive fish IME.

my old jar killed all sorts of fish including lots of cichlids Oscars , Midas , flowerhorn x2 , jag the list goes on he even ate a red wolf and a rtc when they were all smaller
It really was the spawn of the devil , I dont think ill get another as aggressive as he was, but my new baby jars already started on the hit list three tinfoil barbs much bigger than him belly up after a few weeks ;)
Concidering jardini dont have the teeth that snakeheads or wolfs have they can certainly see off a lot of tankmates through persistent chasing and snapping at fins

Pound for pound, inch for inch, i'm not sure you have a more calculating, aggressive, intelligent fish than a convict cichlid. Sure there are bigger and more stronger, with more teeth etc. But in terms of purposeful aggressiveness, the kind that would be hard to beat in a street fight, if the fish were equal in size, how can you beat it?

Is that so? My thought about my Jardini at first was that it was going to just be a bully until I peeked into his mouth while he was breathing. I saw many sharp teeth that were quite large for fish behind its lip. Jardini do have really bad teeth and now that I have seen that. I'm never going to stick my finger into the water no matter what.

They have got teeth I know mine bit me a few times capable of drawing blood but no real damage done , there's no way id let a big black wolf fish do the same it'd be trip to the hospital

There not the most aggressive fish but for damage stingrays are up there , stings make a mess if people

My oscar is really aggressive towards my bullhead catfish that is actually bigger then it but has no problem with the more active white spot pike that is about 3 or 4 inches smaller.
