Could a achara catfish live long term in a 4x4x2?

If long term is 1/2 year, starting from 3", then yes IMHO.

I try my best to follow the 4xL by 2xL rule as a minimum. The achara case is further complicated because of their long maxillary barbels. When these touch two glass panes at the same time, the fish feels trapped and gets flighty, stressed, skittish, it darts, smashes into the walls, furniture, etc.

Yhh this is why I was worried. No worries. Guess he'll have to hold on for the master plan. The things I do for my catfish haha
