Hey what is your ph over there?

What I wouldn't do to know water parameters over there....... (PH and conductivity) :grinno:

Sure seems like the rest of the stuff (filtration and food) are pretty similar across the boards.

Assuming by the amount of times buffering water comes up I'm guessing parameters are MUCH closer to the river then our water over here (softer, less conductivity/tds)

Would love to hear any input from you guys over there!!!!

Just do some research online. The water is alkaline 7-8 .

Then why do so many use aragonite or shells to buffer? There should be no need to between 7-8.

I'd really like to know more about Richards water, as he has the species I have so much trouble with. :(

Amazing pup!

db ive said lots ive times i would love to help. so long as it doesnt cost me much.

post me a test strip or something if you want to know and ill check.

i do think our last pm was the one though and might be the key to several issues.

good luck though.

Thanks again to everyone that have posted the nice comments, its appreciated.

I run my Ph at 7.5 and add Bicarbonate of soda to increase the Kh, water is very soft which leaves the fish open to sudden Ph crash due the the heavy feeding regime. I have only been using the bicarbonate for the past year, the water must have changed from what it was in the days gone by.What alerted me to the problem was one day I noticed the rays looked lethargic and their eyes started to mucus up, its easy to become complacent when you have had something as long as I have, you get into a pattern and stick with it,experience quickly points you in the direction of any sudden changes in behavior etc, its not until something seems a miss that you start testing the water like you always used to....every now and again we all need a kick up the backside!!
