something about this post does not seem right...oh wait i know...its the monstrosity of the tank....i need to :chillpill:.....

Those filament barbs look fantastic. You have me thinking about adding some to my tiny 350g. Keep up the good work, you have plenty of space for more fish. What is next on your list?

Yeah, I really like the Filaments. I think that all the species in the Dawkinsia family are under-rated. In regards to adding more fish, I'm having to clean filter socks every 7 days, so no plans to add anymore poopers.

Thank you.

Have you considered doing a settling chamber before the socks?

I haven't. How would that look and would cleaning it be faster/easier than blasting the filter socks?

I've pretty much resigned myself to cleaning the socks once a week. It's a pain, but removing all that waste on a consistent basis is definitely beneficial.

Just check out setlement chamber threads here and on google. I saw a killer settlement then k1 chamber system for a pond. Very low maintainence but big. Also, i cant remember...do you run a drip system?

My understanding is that they have to be fairly large in order to be effective. I'm "only" running ~2,000GPH through my sump but I think that flow rate is too high to run a settlement chamber given the 150G volume of my sump. I think I would need a large separate container for anything to really "settle."

In regards to a drip system, I really like the idea, just not an easy option for me. There's no easy way for me to set one up without some major work. In addition to lacking the plumbing to the location of the tank, my tap water is treated with chloramines, so I would either need a prefilter or dose conditioner to neutralize the chlormaine (both options seem risky to me).
