Bottles Red Wolf (Erythrinus Erythrinus )

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow, that might be the most colorful ery I have ever seen. Is he normally this active or is it just during feeding time?

Thanks, Rampage. He's definitely more active during feeding time, but he's still pretty active throughout the day.

Thats awesome I wish I could find those fish! whats your trick for them not killing everything?

Thanks. He only seems to chase other fish during feeding time; trying to get them to drop the food. He seems pretty calm, aside from the time that I tried keeping him with other Ery Ery. Maybe it's because he's been kept with other fish since he was 2-3"? Maybe because there's enough fish in the tank that he can't just hone in on one specifically? As you can see, I also have driftwood on the sides for the fish to retreat to if needed, but he seems to play nice with everyone.

That is a wicked looking fish. I may have missed it but where did you find this beauty. Does it get as big as the other wolf fish?

Thank you. My LFS gets them in once or twice a year. This is one of the smaller species. If it hits 10-11", I'll be happy.

Awesome Red Wolf, BTW that channa is very nice too:D. Bottles do you think a 40b will be sufficient for 1 Red Wolf?

Thanks. I would say that a 40 breeder is the bare minimum. Adults are pretty explosive, and mine uses the full 4' that he has available.
