Thanks man but surprisingly there is very little in terms of maintenance. Even at 10 days from the last waterchange I still have low enough nitrates that they don't register on my test strips. I do a 40-60% waterchange that takes around 2-3 hrs every 7-12 days. I only do such large changes because getting setup to do the waterchange is far more difficult than doing them. I have a submersible pump pump it out on the lawn and have fresh well water( both hot and cold) plumbed in right above the tank. Temps only drop from 82 to 76-77.6 degrees even when I preform 60% change over. By morning the temps back up to 80 degrees. I cannot gravel vac due to the bottom of the tank being at floor level so I use a very big power head to push everything from the bottom toward the filter inlets every 2-3 day for 12 hrs which keeps the bottom basically debris free. I have a ton of pothos in the sump and my filtration seems to be incredibly efficient. I also dose the tank with 1/2 to 3/4 cup of ridex every 10-14 days by submerging it in a mesh bag in the sump overnight, then wringe it just once in the morning. The biggest hassle really is scrubbing the window, but that's no biggie either. Just one of the only things about the hobby I could do without.;)
