ID this mystery pleco in Youtube clip?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Common pleco this videos been tossed around here plenty of times
Agree
did you not see I said hypostomus? I was incorrect the first time
Do you even bother reading the posts in full?

Count the dorsal rays
agreed, most likely a hypostomus mutt(hybrid)...maybe between a common and a L091. The fin count is exactly the same as hypostomus. The only difference is the orange coloring.
Perhaps I should ask a pleco expert here?
What?
Perhaps I can ask another pleco expert here
Better
Regardless they're not ultra rare and they're nothing special
Been my thought since the first time I saw it.

Well this pleco has ID'ed as Hypostomus sp "Rio Jatapu", thanks mystery person who sent me an email! Apparently they are not common pleco but a completely different species. They are not same species as Hypostomus plecostomus. Mystery solved.

These plecos also lose the orange. I tried for a while to get him to send me one but he doesn't ship.
And the orange can be still seen on various sizes of unknown plecos of same "species"

So you looked through Planetcatfish threads/pics and stumbled upon the one hypostomus that looks similar that there's only one pic on the whole site and came to this conclusion with some ridiculous story about a mystery email.

Let me tell you how a fish that's not readily available is running wild in Florida lmfao

You're a funny guy

Be careful, he is the MFK resident pro on all things fish. What he says, goes :) I don't even bother to question anymore. These plecos in the video are common all over south Florida. Paul has been catching them for a while now. I posted the above and he comes back with someone useless And the orange can be still seen on various sizes of unknown plecos of same "species" , always has to get the last word in :)
