Here's a pic of mine that I've been growing out in a 10 gallon for 3-4 months now. Got him when he was fry. Btw this is my 3rd that I've been trying to grow out and my first all by itself. The other 2 I had before this one I was trying to grow out with red texas/midas, jaguar and Jack Dempsey. Didn't even last a month before dieing. This one I took someone's advice on here and put him in a tank by itself. He did get ick about 3 weeks ago but I caught it right away and cured him. He's also eating nls medium pellets.

Nice blue you have there and good idea on raising him alone, but there are a few things I would advise you to do if you want to ensure him a long and healthy life.

First thing first, get him something bigger than a 10g.
My guy is only 1" and I have him in a 40b all to himself.
And when you say NLS "medium" pellet, im assuming that is the 2mm? If so, that is too large even if he does eat them. Too many stuffed inside him can cause Swim bladder disorder; a form of bloat thats not just from stress or parasites. Basically will constipate him to death.
I feed mine NLS flakes until 2" then .5mm followed by the 1mm, all TheraA. Never larger than the 3mm as they are very dense and blues have a sensitive digestive system.

I do plan on moving him out once he reaches 3". I have a 240, 120, 100 and a 30. The 30 has all community fish in there but I do plan on getting rid of the community fish. Only reason I don't throw him in the 30 is because I have a small Dovii I am growing out. He's only a 1" right now but from what I read that small dovii will kill anything in that tank. So my dovii is in a breeder net atm.

So the lfs float that I am feeding him is to big? I've been feeding him those pellets for the past 2 months already. I do have some nls 1mm sinking pellets that I can feed him. Is that better? Just want this sucker to live long and would take advice from the experts that have grown out ebjd.
