I couldn't figure it out when I was younger. Somebody showed me once but I'd like to try someday again.

you should. it's fun and addictive hobby just like fishkeeping. lol i would go for miles to search for some toy shops and it will be very weird because somehow im the oldest in the shop. hahah

Given you have to solve the sudoku and aren't just trying to get all the same color on each face, it is a little bit evil... I've played with a few from the seventys which were pretty cool...kinda wrecked my own proper one when I was a kid by taking all the stickers off....

goshh, i wouldnt dare to try the puzzle. even the usual sudoku puzzle gives me headaches but cant imagine when sudoku combined with a rubik's cube.
lol why not just take the parts off rather than the stickers?

The book was for the original, but it was lost before I really learned from it. I did solve the pyramid. Didn't come anywhere close on the 4x4. What was there to solve on the snake? Also could not spend an hour on them at one sitting. Never saw the 2x2

i never trust books, they would only gives u more headaches. lol it's better to learn from another person just like i did. i learnt from my brother, and i was not his only student .
on the 4x4 btw, i only managed to solve the middle layers. u have to know where the positions of the colors just like a 3x3 and solve all the middle on each face. then after tht u can solve the sides/edges. but i nver knew how to solve it.
on the snake cube, i got the solution from youtube,
maybe this will help, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peCSi-ki8iA
and for the 2x2, it's easy actually which i also found the solution in youtube, you can get the best quality 2x2 at Toys R Us for around 5$ or so.

Sorry. I meant like one you can play online. I found one, got to about 500 moves, found a strategy to help me, went to 1000 moves and quit. lol NOT FOR ME! least ways, online got me confused. Had to keep turning it around.

I have a 3x3 on my desk. I generally solve it regularly enough to remember all the steps but it often sits untouched for weeks. When I solved it a lot I was able to do it in around a minute, now probably more like 3-5 minutes.
