Which is more active and more likely to come see you when you go up to the tank. And I doubt his but, can either be taught to handfeed?

Pictus more active and I doubt you can hand feed either one. I know my 4 line wouldn't go for it and as crazily as they eat and with the spines they have I don't want them near my hand

I think it will be more dependent on the individual fish personality wise. But, you be surprised what hungry fish will do. I have 2 dwarf gourami that both will eat from my fingers...lol

My sailfin mollies will occasionally handfeed, they let me handle them though amazingly! One of my angelfish used to handfeed but unfortunately I had to euthanize him yesterday. I have tried to handfeed my raphael cat but he is to lazy to come eat.

As long as they will come out to eat I will be fine with it. I just don't want ANOTHER cat that just lays under something during feeding. So I guess I will have to get some more opinions but probably doing a four line.

Overall 4 lines do like to hang back during the day but during a feeding once they become aware of the food they will be out zipping around until they find it

How long have you had your four line? What would you say the growth rate is?

I have had mine for 2 years and it's probably around 7-8". The first year he grew to a good size fast from 2" to over 6". Not actice at all unless food is around. I would get the 3 pictus. Also would get more filtration

If in option 2 or 3 the pollen is anything like mine, all other fish in the tank will be eradicated.

I was planning on getting some type of sponge filter. Would you recommend any?
